A new segment …and you can win popcorn!

Popcorn pop quiz

It is time for the first installment of “Popcorn Pop Quiz.” You simply have to be the first person to answer the question right by replying to this post. If you do, I will send you popcorn in the mail. It will be the real stuff too. None of that microwave garbage that tastes like butter-flavoured packaging foam.

Here is the first (ever!) question:
What do these four movies have in common?

Movie-trivia-11-20-13

Bridge on the River Kwai (1957, #105)
Ben-Hur (1959, #178)
Psycho (1960, #30)
Lawrence of Arabia (1962, #70)

  1. James Carruthers says:

Is it Obie Won? Alec Guiness is in all of them?

    Sent from my iPod

  2. No, but that’s a good guess.

  3. David says:

Actor Jack Hawkins appeared in 3 of them (Bridge as Major Warden, Ben as Quintus Arrius and Lawerence as General Allenby). Bridge won 7 Oscars, Ben won 11 Oscars, Lawerence won 7 Oscars and Psycho was nominated for 4 Oscars

  4. Good guesses, but the winner is Kirk Perry who answered correctly that these are all the movies mentioned in Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” For some reason the blog wasn’t allowing him to comment, so he used Facebook. Kirk, here comes popcorn your way.

As a side note, I thought there was a fifth one, “The King and I.” But since his song is written in chronological order, he is actually referring to the musical when he mentions this one.

Until the next Popcorn Pop Quiz, you stay class San Diego.
